As we say goodbye to 2012 and look forward to 2013 many of us feel a hope bubbling up inside us just as lively as it does in the champaign or sparkling juice glasses we’ll cling tonight in celebration of ringing in the new and bidding farewell to the old.
The new year is a chance to wipe clean the slate and begin fresh in so many ways. And fresh beginnings always glimmer with a sense of sparkling hope.
In the busyness of our lives, though, sometimes we don’t slow down long enough to do more than say farewell to the old year and hello to the one spread out before us — often spout a few resolutions and forge ahead full steam.
Let this year be different.
Our first Creative Soul of the year promises to gift us with a very special present: the gift of time and in that self reflection.
We’ll come together for a day-long retreat to focus on breathing out the old and inhaling the new with restorative yoga.
We’ll stretch our creativity with live writing circles centered around a prompt that will spark reflection and stir the hope of change with in our hearts before coming together to discuss each piece.
We’ll share a healthy, healing meal prepared during a cooking demo with Toni of Food Just Sayin’ and Alleyside Bakery and Hyacynth of Undercover Mother.
We’ll choose to indulge in a relaxing facial or massage.
And we’ll join in a round circle discussion about life balance led by freelance writer, website creator and editor, wife and mom of soon-to-be-four kids, Melissa of Peanut Butter in My Hair.
Those who are interested can join Bigger Picture Blogs founders Melissa of Peanut Butter in My Hair, Alita of Alita Jewel’s Treasures and Hyacynth of Undercover Mother as well as current BPB writer Brook of Redhead Reverie for a relaxing dinner at a local farm-to-table restaurant.
