‘Twas the Write Before Christmas: Day 4

Welcome to Day Four of ‘Twas the Write Before Christmas!
Photobucket

Wow.

The past few days have been a great display of vivid words, lovely pictures and creative thoughts.

We feel so inspired by all the work that has been shared, and we’re excited to continue sharing the gift of stories.

If you’re joining us for the first time, here’s a recap of what we’ve been up to. Feel free to jump right in!
We know you’re busy. We know the holidays might feel crammed full of things to be done. We know — because that’s how our lives are, too. And if you’re anything like us, you might be wishing for a small respite, right about now. Something that’s just for you.

Let today be the day you stop and create something! Share your story — give your gifts — in the form of ANYTHING! Do you associate a certain memory with today’s prompt? Are you moved to write a poem or story? Does the prompt encourage you to draw or paint? Are you itching to bake something or photograph something or craft something? Let the prompt lead you where it will.

We can’t wait see, read, and share in the magic of your season!

Yesterday’s prompt was a bit heavy, we know, so we’re following it up with a prompt that can be taken a bit lighter, if you so choose.

Sometimes when we’re creating, it’s necessary to take a break from heavier thoughts so as to give our brains a bit of a respite. Of course, take Day Four wherever you would like. If it moves you to a serious place, go there! But if you’re craving a bit of fun, perhaps a little Dr. Seuss is in order.

Day Four Prompt:

“It came without ribbons!  It came without tags!  It came without packages, boxes, or bags!’  And he puzzled three hours ’til his puzzler was sore.  THEN the Grinch thought of something he hadn’t before!  ‘Maybe Christmas,’ he thought, ‘doesn’t come from a store.  Maybe Christmas…perhaps…means a little bit more!”
