Writing Me: A Writing Tradition {Melissa}

‘Tis the season of hayrides and pumpkin pies, costumes and candy corn, drifting leaves that turn into falling snow and crisp mornings with flannel sheets and chunky sweaters that lend way to days full of tradition. What does the word tradition make you think of? What does it make you feel? Is there a tradition you partake in every year, or one from your childhood that stands out?

Take the word TRADITION and tell us what it means to you.

Go where your words and recollections take you. A few lines, or dozens, in whatever form moves you, write as your heart responds to the prompt.

Today’s post comes to us from Melissa:

This time of year is all about traditions. Traditional celebrations, meals, rituals. We have a little tradition here at Bigger Picture Blogs, it’s something I personally look forward to every single year.  ‘Twas the write before Christmas  a writing and creativity event.

I love the five (or more) minutes of me time I get by participating in the event. I cherish the stories it brings out of me when I can just sit and think about the holidays and this seasons from different prompts.

All good traditions evolve and so has ours. This year we are giving you words and pictures, and we’re giving you a head start. Below you will find a list of all the prompts text portion. Pin it, share it, save it.

Starting on December 3 we will have the prompts post here, daily with a new picture related to the prompt. You can take your inspiration from the text or the picture or both! There will be a linky opened on each post where you can share how the prompt inspired you, in a words, in images, in butter cream frosting, however you are inspired.

In a time of year where the hustle and bustle of all that we have to do can sap us of all our creativity and inspiration this is a quick and easy way you can take some time to feed your creative soul and focus on what this season  means to you.

Happy creating!
