Bigger Picture Moments – Featuring Lisa

When we meet next week, we’ll begin celebrating a new theme for April: PLANT. Whether we’re celebrating the arrival of spring in the evidence of plants all around us, placing something in the ground so it can grow, planting ideas, or planting ourselves, in April we will spend time ruminating on the growth of great things from small beginnings.

Please join us on Mondays, when we’ll be sharing POETRY, with a link up right here on Bigger Picture Blogs.

And come back again on Thursdays, to find inspiration in the small and big moments of our fellow community!

In what ways do you find meaning in the word PLANT? Share it with us this April!

In the meantime, today we are wrapping up March’s theme for Bigger Picture Blogs with a final word on rejuvenation.

This comes from Lisa, of Diapers, Coupons, and Bills:

That’s why people tell me I look exactly the same – because to them I really do. That’s why my husband tells me I’m beautiful every day – because to him I really am. And that’s why I’ve had such a hard time believing that the beauty is still there – because I had heard it from everyone but myself.

Be sure you read her post to find out how to rejuvenate your sense of beauty in yourself, especially in the badges of honor you carry on your body after birthing children!

Rejuvenation Bigger Picture Moments ~ Featuring Stephanie

Rejuvenation is our theme for this month over here at Bigger Picture Blogs, and here’s a glimpse from one of last week’s Bigger Picture Moments .

From Stephanie of Girl of Grace in To Sling Love

I write here often about the love shown in simple moments and selfless actions, but I often forget how love is poured out in words.

Words are powerful and once they are spoken, they cannot be undone.  Words that hurt and wound leave devastation in there path and it can take years to mend the damage.  And the truth is: that damage will never be fully mended here on earth.

If we’re honest, it doesn’t take long to pull out a memory of words that hurt like a razor sharp sword, because there are wounds that run so deep we can still feel the sting years later.Such a great message on finding peace in the unexpected.

How about you? Where have you seen Rejuvenation in the bigger picture?

Bigger Picture Moments: March 7, 2013

For the month of March, we’re going to have a special focus, with the theme of REJUVENATE! As we have celebrated LOVE for the month of February, March will be dedicated to rejuvenation – much needed, as so many of us have been battling a difficult winter, with the flu-pocalypse of 2013, pregnancy ups & downs, and other bodily, mental & spiritual woes. So please join us as we strive to revive…and rejuvenate!

Here’s a scene from one of last week’s Bigger Picture Moments as we celebrated the final week with the theme of love:

From Rubber Chicken Madness, If you love them, let them go:

“She sobbed that she’s a single mother, then argued that the empty nest isn’t as difficult for a married couple because they have each other.

At that moment, every fiber of my being ached for this woman.

I know her fear.

I know her uncertainty.

I know the loneliness she senses around the corner.

I will likely be a single empty-nester too.

And I’m afraid of not being needed. I’m afraid of being lonely. I’m uncertain about what my empty nest will look like.

But I. Will. Not. Hold. Them. Back. …”

Awesome bigger picture moment there.

Let’s see what we’ve got this week for our new March theme Rejuvenation!
