Writing Me: In this Family Prose {Hyacynth}

Welcome to part two of Writing Me, our community writing project intended to inspire our creativity collectively and individually.

We are just finishing up our In This Family prose.

Today’s feature is Hyacynth from Undercover Mother.

In this house

we share germs

but also love.

We wrap arms tight around necks

and squeeze and squueeeeze and squueeeze.

We say sorry

as well as forgiven

We do loud

a little better than whispers.

We love hard

when its hard to love.

We celebrate what’s right

instead of only seeing what’s wrong.

We  whole-heart love the Lord our God

and love the whole-heart mess.

We go deep —

deep laughs, deep thoughts, deep feelings, deep joy.

And, most important,

we go it all together.

Because in this family

no goes it alone.

  1. Beautiful, Hy.

Your family sounds much like our family. I especially like “no one does it alone” … so true.

  2. So, so beautiful. It is just perfect for today.

  3. I did this meme before – I tried to leave a link but it says the linky is closed. So I’m leaving it here, if that’s okay. Mine’s not quite so reverent, but it’s an honest description of our family so I love it 🙂
